The Spudnut Shop

We went from Spokane to Richland, Washington just to go to the only Spudnut Shop in Washington. Frank sold Spudnuts in 1955 in Mobridge South Dakota. In case you don't know what a Spudnut is it is a doughnut made with potato flour.......and they are delicious!!

Frank took in a picture of him, his brother Vernon and some other kids in their Spudnut hats to show the owner. Her name is Val and she is so sweet and friendly. She said she was going to frame the picture and hang it on the wall in the shop. Everyone who worked there and all the customers (one of the customers took this picture) were just really friendly. Val's father started the Spudnut Shop in 1948 and she has worked there since she was 15 years old.

We bought a few Spudnuts and I got a Spudnut T-shirt. We were really happy we visited the shop.

This is the picture Frank took to The Spudnut Shop. Frank is the one with his head turned and his brother Vernon is in the front on the right.
