Kootenay Lake Ferry

In order to continue the drive on the second half of the Selkirk Loop you have to ride the Kootenay Lake Ferry. This is no small ferry boat!! As you can see from the pictures it is huge and can carry a lot of vehicles. It is the longest free ferry boat ride in the world. The scenery as you ride across is beautiful and the day was perfect, just enough sun to keep it from being so cold, and just enough breeze that it kept it from being so warm. This ride was for sure the highlight of the trip around the Loop.
