And Even More of St. Louis
This is the oldest cathedral west of the Mississippi River.
This is a picture of the Arch taken from the Metro station window.
This is the courthouse where the Dred Scott case was heard.
Dred Scott, a slave, filed a lawsuit asking for his and his wife's freedom.
The judge refused. (look it up on the web it is very interesting)

Graceland
And Elvis' is not still alive (at least his
body is in this grave on the Graceland grounds.)
We saw several of his cars.
We saw Elvis' airplane "The Lisa Marie"
These are just a few pictures we took of our
visit to Graceland.

Ornamental Metal Museum
Today we went to the National Ornamental Metal Museum. The displays were all made by blacksmiths heating iron and twisting it into some very beautiful designs.
This row of corn is all made out of metal and painted to look so real.
These are just some of the designs on this gazebo overlooking the Mississippi River. Very beautiful scenery.

Gibson Guitar Factory Tour
Thursday June 26. The Tours
The first tour of the day was at Sun Studio. This is where Rock and Roll began.
This is the studio where Elvis made his first record. And as they say "the rest is history"
We sang into the same microphone used by Elvis (at least that's what they told us). This same microphone was used by a whole list of people including Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis...... and the list goes on and on.

Preparations for Big Trip
We have been planning an exciting trip that will take us almost 8,000 miles. We have chosen our route, our RV parks to stay in and the attractions we want to see. Now we are in the process or getting our things together to take in the trailer and the other preparations needed before we leave on June 25, 2008. We will be pulling a 2005 5th wheel trailer. We will be driving Frank's "baby", his 2000 Ford F250. We want you to be a part of this trip so we will be keeping you posted of our progress and as we travel we will be posting pictures for you to share.
